The parent committee is a valuable link between parents and management. Together, they monitor quality and ensure that children enjoy attending our childcare, after-school care, and preschool programs in a safe environment.
According to the Childcare Act, every childcare facility is required to have a parent committee. This committee has the right to provide both solicited and unsolicited advice on topics such as pedagogical policy, the quality of care, nutrition, safety and health policy, opening hours, activities offered, complaints procedures, and price changes. The parent committee is also involved in organizing activities at Villa Eigenwijs.
A neutral advisory committee The parent committee is completely independent and consists exclusively of parents of children in our care. (Educational) professionals and managers of Villa Eigenwijs are not eligible to join the committee. Employees who have placed a child with us are also excluded from participation. This way, we guarantee objectivity and the importance of a genuine parental perspective.
Tasks of the parent committee
As a member of the parent committee, you are the link between management and parents. You attend meetings and perform the tasks outlined in the parent committee regulations. As an independent body, the parent committee monitors the quality of childcare and ensures that parents can make their voices heard through them. The well-being of the children is always paramount.
